According to the poem entitle Apo on the Wall written by Bj Patino. There are three main characters which is the Persona (son), Personas Father and Apo (Boss). The Persona is a clumsy and a sneaky kid which intervene to his Fathers belongings. The Personas Father is a snappy man, hard working person, strict, loyal to his duty and a high rank officer in an army. Apo is the most powerful and most influence person which is the commander in chief/president of the country.

From the beginning of the story, the Personas Father is wearing a green uniform inside of their house even he is out of the office. He even bring the picture of his boss inside on their house just to tell that he is working hard and after a time, the Persona start sneaking to his Fathers belongings and wanted to explore about his job but he has been caught by his Father who snapped him and look at him so snappy just for him to prevent from avoiding an unnecessary movement. When the Persona look at the picture, he got scared by its glare looking eyes and telling that he can sees everything what he will do that may resemble to Jesus.

Except of Father and Son, the relationship between them is not totally close and I think they doesn’t spend a time for each other because of too much work. The Personas Father wants his kid to be more responsible and be a man that won’t go back on his word no matter what happen. He doesn’t mean that his kid just to be like him but what he wanted is to make him decide from what he wants and go to the right path.

I can say that I like it in some way because it made me relate about my childhood for being so clumsy and sneaking everything but it doesn’t affect me when it comes to emotion.

                I think the message that the poem want to tell is how violence our country become because of our President Ferdinand Marcos who’ve been obsess by the power. Looking back from the past can make you think on how our ancestor suffer such violence during the proclamation of Martial Law and that day, there’s a lot of things that been violated especially in human rights. That knowledge from the past must not be forgotten and must be applied to the present because if we forget about that historical issue, there’s a tendency that it may happen again in the present or in the future so we must prevent it no matter what.
